I've met Brock and heard him speak about his book. A former US Marine, a compassionate Republican who served the country admirably, he became passionate about saving the forests of America, and used his US Marine skills to approach that as something that would be good for everyone. He's a true patriot in the elegant sense of the word, someone who has dedicated his life to helping our nation save its forests. He was also instrumental in helping the EPA come to life - which incredibly in our lifetime has come under fire from the same party that created it. This compact book is a "how to" for not just people concerned about the environment, it's a concise instruction manual on how to approach any problem that needs solving when two sides of the fence are such polar opposites. It's funny that the idea of conservation, environmentalism has taken on such a political tone - as if it makes sense that we leave behind a planet that doesn't sustain the next generation. That's not good for business, and it's not good for the planet either. I highly recommend looking into Brock's work, as he's someone who understands both sides of the argument, someone who has donned the uniform for our country and served it from all levels. The next time you stop by a national forest, remember it was people like Brock who saved that land so that you could enjoy it. It's not a conservative issue, it's not a liberal issue - it's a human rights issue. We all deserve the right to enjoy our planet equally. If you're interested in learning how to fight a battle for the planet that you can actually win, I highly recommend picking up this book, and getting Brock to speak to your cause. My two cents.
